Early Life

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Amanda grew up in the Kendall region of the city. Her parents, Genaro and Susana del Busto, both Cuban immigrants, instilled in her the values of hard work and the pursuit of education. Despite their humble beginnings, Amanda’s parents emphasized the importance of learning, even purchasing an Encyclopedia Britannica through monthly installments.

Academic Challenges and Overcoming Dyslexia

Throughout her schooling, Amanda faced academic challenges, particularly in reading and writing. It was later discovered that she was dyslexic. Despite her struggles, Amanda’s determination and creative problem-solving skills allowed her to develop exceptional memorization abilities. She employed various techniques, such as reading aloud in front of mirrors and imaginary audiences, to overcome her difficulties. These skills would prove invaluable in her future academic and professional endeavors.

Educational Background

Despite her early struggles with reading, Amanda excelled academically. She graduated as the top student in her class at Miami Sunset Senior High School. Subsequently, she received an academic scholarship to the University of Miami, where she graduated in just three years with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science, along with a minor in Spanish Literature. Amanda then pursued a career in marketing, holding managerial positions in Fortune 500 companies. During this time, she also obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in consumer-focused marketing from Florida International University.

Legal Career

Amanda’s passion for justice and her desire to represent those in need led her to pursue a career in law. She attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate degree in 2013. After graduating, Amanda began her legal career at a large litigation firm specializing in insurance defense. This experience allowed her to gain valuable insights into the tactics employed by insurance companies. Determined to fight for the rights of personal injury victims, she became the managing partner of a small law firm before establishing her own practice, the Suriel Trial Firm.

Amanda’s firm is dedicated to providing personalized and aggressive representation to each client while also educating the community on Florida’s constantly evolving personal injury laws. Her expertise extends to all State of Florida Courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
