Before founding Acestar Accounting & Tax Advisory Services in 2022, Anyanwu had run various small businesses herself. Even with a background in accounting, she found that after putting her energy into running a business, organizing the numbers and staying on top of reporting and compliance were often the last things she wanted to spend time doing.
She wanted to focus on the products and services she was bringing to the market.
That experience ultimately helped shape Acestar.
“I started Acestar Accounting & Tax Advisory Services to alleviate the accounting and financial responsibilities that small business owners often have to carry alongside actually running their businesses,” Anyanwu says.
Today, Acestar serves small and owner-managed businesses, professionals, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations, with a mission to help business owners understand their financial position and make informed decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
Building an Accounting Firm Around Clarity
For Anyanwu, taking financial responsibilities off a business owner’s plate is only part of the equation.
One of the biggest turning points in building Acestar came when she realized that completing the accounting work itself was not enough.
A business owner could have bookkeeping that was up to date and filings that were complete and still not understand what was happening financially within the business.
That realization changed how Anyanwu thought about the role Acestar could play.
She wanted clients not only to have their accounting tasks handled, but also to understand the financial information being produced and be able to use it to make better decisions.
That emphasis on clarity and partnership has become central to Acestar’s approach.
An Approach Built Around Clarity and Partnership
Acestar provides recurring bookkeeping and financial reporting, corporate and personal tax preparation, business year-end services, GST/PST compliance, payroll administration, and financial advisory. The firm also provides catch-up and clean-up accounting for businesses that need help getting their books back on track.
But Anyanwu does not believe accounting should simply happen behind the scenes while the owner remains uncertain about what the numbers mean.

Building the Next Chapter of Acestar
Anyanwu holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a specialization in Business Law. She is QuickBooks and Xero certified, has completed professional payroll training, and is a member of the National Payroll Institute. She is also continuing her professional accounting education toward the Chartered Professional Accountant designation in Canada.
Her vision for Acestar extends beyond traditional bookkeeping and tax compliance.
Over the next several years, Anyanwu plans to grow the founder-led practice into a full-service accounting and advisory firm with a strong team and specialized areas of expertise.
She also wants to expand into deeper advisory and controller-level support, helping business owners understand not only where their businesses stand today, but also plan more confidently for where they want to go.
That vision extends to the type of company she wants to build internally. Anyanwu wants Acestar to provide talented professionals with opportunities to build meaningful careers while maintaining the flexibility to be present for their families.
Ultimately, she wants Acestar to be known for its expertise, integrity, and quality of its client relationships.
The Vision Behind Acestar
The idea behind Acestar began with Anyanwu’s own experience as both an accountant and a business owner.
She understood what it was like to care deeply about the work a business was created to do while still carrying the financial and administrative responsibilities required to operate it.
Acestar was created to help shoulder some of that responsibility without leaving the business owner disconnected from the numbers.
For Anyanwu, the goal is not simply to process numbers or file returns. It is to provide accounting support business owners can trust while helping them understand what is happening financially within their businesses.
