In the ever-evolving landscape of interior design, Chloe Wang stands out as a visionary who blends timeless elegance with contemporary innovation. Known for her meticulously curated spaces and keen eye for detail, Wang has carved a niche for herself among the design elite. From luxury residences to boutique commercial spaces, her portfolio radiates a sense of purpose and harmony that has earned her recognition in some of the most respected design circles.
A Journey of Discovery and Design
Chloe Wang’s journey in design is as captivating as the luxurious spaces she creates. Born and raised in Zhengzhou, China, Wang grew up immersed in a world of luxury and artistry. Her family, deeply rooted in one of the city’s most prestigious property developments, instilled in her a deep appreciation for art and design. For generations, her family collected fine art and enlisted interior designers to craft their homes, shaping her early fascination with aesthetics and functionality. She vividly recalls her parents waiting three months for hand-crafted wood sofa sections, and her mother’s resourcefulness in customizing cushions to blend beauty with comfort—an experience that profoundly influenced her design philosophy.
With an MBA and a career rooted in high-end interiors, Wang honed her craft at leading firms before becoming Chief Designer at Mastuvu Design, where she seamlessly merges her heritage, artistry, and expertise to redefine modern luxury.
Reflecting on her beginnings, Wang says, “Design has always been about storytelling for me. Every space has a narrative, and my job is to bring that story to life in a way that resonates with the people who inhabit it.”
Her work is characterized by a thoughtful balance of form and function, where aesthetics meet practicality. “I want my designs to be beautiful, but more importantly, I want them to feel alive. A great space doesn’t just look good; it works seamlessly with the lifestyle and aspirations of its owners,” she explains.
Signature Style: Seamless Cultural Influences
One of the defining aspects of Chloe Wang’s design philosophy is her ability to seamlessly blend cultural influences. She creates spaces that feel both universal and deeply personal. Her designs often feature a harmonious mix of minimalism and Western opulence, with curated elements like handcrafted furniture, natural textures, and striking art pieces.
“Cultural elements are more than decorative—they carry stories and history. I love incorporating these nuances into my work to create layers of meaning,” Wang shares.
One of her projects reflects this approach, such as the redesign of a luxury apartment in Marina del Rey, California, where she juxtaposed traditional craftsmanship with modern luxury to create a serene urban retreat inspired by mid-century modern design.
These fair-trade handwoven baskets from Ghana and Rwanda are true works of art for home décor, particularly when displayed on walls, because of their unique craftsmanship, cultural significance, and aesthetic beauty. Each basket tells a story of the artisan’s culture, traditions, and identity. The designs and weaving techniques often carry symbolic meanings, representing elements of nature, community, and local folklore, making them more than just decorative objects. They are a connection to another world.
Inspirations Behind the Magic
Wang’s inspiration comes from a wide array of sources, including art, nature, and architecture. She credits her creative process to a deep curiosity about the world around her. “I find beauty in the smallest details—a shadow falling on a wall, the texture of an ancient textile, or the curve of a building. These moments spark ideas that eventually find their way into my designs.”
She believes fresh flowers are an essential element for creating inviting, dynamic spaces in any home. Fresh flowers provide a direct connection to nature and fragrance, enhancing the sensory experience of a space. The subtle aromas of flowers like roses, lilies, or lavender can contribute to an overall feeling of comfort and luxury. This connection fosters a sense of well-being, grounding the space and creating a more harmonious environment. Their presence makes a home feel more organic and alive.
In addition to her design projects, Wang is a sought-after speaker at industry events, such as the keynote speaker at the Digital LA panel at Pacific Design Center and UCLA Anderson School, where she shares her insights on creativity, entrepreneurship, and the future of design.
Looking Ahead
As Chloe Wang continues to push the boundaries of interior design, her vision remains unwavering: to craft spaces that inspire, resonate, and stand the test of time. Her upcoming ventures include spearheading high-profile collaborations with international brands to create multifunctional home décor products infused with the essence of Chinese herbs, blending tradition with modern innovation.
“I believe design has the power to transform lives. It’s about more than just aesthetics—it’s about creating environments that evoke emotion, foster connection, and stand the test of time,” Wang concludes.
With her unwavering dedication and creative brilliance, Chloe Wang is undoubtedly shaping the future of interior design—one extraordinary space at a time.
