Copywriting Catalyst: The Liisa Reimann Story
By: Alexandra Perez
Liisa Reimann didn’t set out to be a copywriter. Her path twisted through corporate jobs, dragon boat coaching, and even online fitness coaching before she found her real magic in words.
From Burnout to Breakthrough
Her career started in the buttoned-up world of corporate life. It paid the bills but drained her spark. At the same time, she thrived in high-performance spaces as a competitive athlete and experienced dragon boat coach. So when the 9-to-5 grind began to suffocate her creativity, she tried pivoting into online personal training.
It looked like the perfect fit. She loved movement, coaching, and helping people. But something was missing.
Then came the no-filter advice that flipped the script. “You’re a dumbass,” her coach told her, with full honesty and zero sugar-coating. “You should be doing copywriting. That’s what you’re really, really good at.”
It hit her like a lightning bolt. Storytelling had always come naturally. She could move people, inspire them, get them to act. She just never thought that skill could be a career. So she dropped the fitness gig, left the desk job behind, and stepped fully into her zone of genius: writing powerful, people-first copy that actually converts.
Championing the Underdogs
Liisa isn’t here for cookie-cutter clients or hype-driven tactics. She shows up for the scrappy, overlooked business owners trying to figure it out on their own. The ones wearing twelve hats and thinking sales has to feel gross.
“These are my people,” she says. “They think marketing is sleazy or that they can’t charge what they’re worth. I love helping them see the value in what they do and how to express it.”
Her absolute favorites? Women in their sixties and seventies who have a lifetime of experience but zero idea how to show up online. Watching them say, “Wait a minute, I can do this. I can be a business owner,” lights her up.
The Mentorship That Made It Happen
Liisa gives a lot of credit to the mentors who told her the truth and challenged her to level up. But one of the biggest lessons she learned is that doing it all alone is a myth.
“You need mentors. You need community. You need to invest in people who’ve already done what you’re trying to do,” she says. “And then, you turn around and help the next person.”
She didn’t always get it right. Her first business coach was a mismatch. But that experience taught her what to look for, and when she did find the right coach, it was a game-changer. Today, she keeps learning through masterminds, networking groups, and collaborative partnerships that keep her sharp and surrounded by people who push her to grow.
Copy That Changes Lives
Liisa’s not just out here writing pretty words. She creates strategies that help small businesses stand out, attract dream clients, and make real money.
Whether it’s a website that feels like home, an email funnel that guides people with ease, or a lead magnet that finally gets downloads, her work drives results. Even nonprofits she’s supported have seen big wins, using messaging that actually connects and brings in more donors and volunteers.
“Small businesses can’t survive without revenue,” she says. “I help them get clear on what they offer, why it matters, and how to communicate that in a way that brings in consistent income.”
It’s clarity that builds confidence. And confident business owners price themselves fairly, market themselves boldly, and finally start growing on their own terms.
Big Goals with a Human Focus
In the next few years, Liisa wants to be a recognizable name in the copywriting world. But she’s not chasing agency life. She envisions a small, mighty team of three that includes a web designer, photographer, and videographer so she can offer holistic brand experiences without the red tape.
She’s also working on a book that lays out her signature blend of storytelling, buyer psychology, and messaging strategy, built around DISC profiles. Her goal is to show entrepreneurs how to market themselves in a way that feels honest, personal, and effective.
“I want to be known for bringing the human touch back into copy,” she says. “Telling your story is how you sell without feeling salesy.”
Liisa is also exploring expanding her online courses, workshops, and speaking engagements to help more people learn how to use story as a strategic business tool.
Advice to the New Wave of Copywriters
If she could sit every new copywriter down for a quick pep talk, Liisa would give three must-follow rules:
- Don’t rely on one client. Spread your income sources so no one project controls your peace of mind.
- Get a real mentor. You can’t build a business by stitching together freebies from YouTube.
- Operate with an abundance mindset. There’s enough work to go around. Generosity builds community. Hoarding builds burnout.
Her advice is simple but powerful. Show up. Help people. Share what you know. And don’t be afraid to charge for it.
